Based in East Texas, Stephan Myers works with 35mm, 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 and 4 x 5 film formats and has engineered several hand-made, one-of-a-kind systems for specialized imagery. Since so much corporate and editorial work in Texas and Louisiana require location shooting, Myers frequently travels with an extensive, portable, studio strobe lighting system that can beautifully illuminate anything from the palatial corridors of a concert hall to the delicate, minute details of a butterfly's wing.
Myers frequently utilizes "theatrical" lighting for location work to grab and hold the viewer's attention, a technique particularly well suited for environmental portraits and annual reports needing stylized imagery to help the client stand out in a competitive business crowd.
Stephan's extensive scientific knowledge is eminently helpful in editorial photography when science and natural history projects need illustrating. However, Myers' talents extend beyond visual imagery and into literary imagery in the form of numerous published articles in the fields of natural history, travel and photography.
